Join UF ANS
I’m a nuclear engineering student and I’d like to get involved with ANS. What should I do?
- First, come to the next ANS meeting and introduce yourself! Even if you’re a freshmen or sophomore who’s not taking nuclear courses, coming to the ANS meetings is a great way to learn about the department, ANS activities, and meet upperclassmen.
- Secondly, download, complete, and submit the application to join the UF ANS student chapter. It won’t cost anything!
- Then, go to the ANS national website and join the National American Nuclear Society. It’s only like $30 and they give you a yearly subscription to the Nuclear News magazine for free!
- Subscribe to the ANS website RSS feed to keep updated on anything posted to the website!
I’m doing nuclear engineering, but I’m more interested in medical physics, what now?
- All of the medical physics students in addition to joining UF ANS also join UF Society of Health and Medical Physics or SHMPS.
- So if you’re interest in medical physics, join both ANS and SHMPS!
