This student conference gave nuclear engineering students an option for a quick spring break -- at a Florida's Cocoa Beach! We understand that travel to Florida on academic business in the spring would make many a student desire a spring break trip to the beach, so we provided just that ability.
As a lead in to our conference, we provided an opportunity for students to arrive early to Orlando International Airport to visit Cocoa Beach for a night of socials, rest, relaxation, and celebration of the nuclear renaissance.
The main event consisted of a kick-off at The Holiday Inn Cocoa Beach Oceanfront Resort with a panel discussion including some of today’s leaders in the nuclear age, followed by a buffet reception with a cash bar on a beautiful Tiki lawn that opens on to the beach. The rest of the night was theirs to enjoy! There were many restaurants, bars, and clubs within walking distance of the hotels and, of course, the beach!
All transportation and food costs were included in the registration fee.
